Adult Sewing Classes

Sewing classes for Adults in Kent

The Sewing Club runs classes alongside the school’s timetable all year round with a maximum of 6 students per class so you get lots of hands-on tuition and personal guidance.

We have machines and equipment you can use and high cutting tables that can save your back! We have an extensive range of books and sewing patterns to borrow too.

Beginners can follow a set list of projects to help them build up their skills and confidence or concentrate on what interests them right from the start.  You can get helpful advice about making up, altering and copying patterns, fabric choices and what equipment to buy for your own use.  Angela’s knowledge of sewing machines is invaluable if you need advice to purchase one.

As The Sewing Club is not affiliated to any fabric shop or brand, Angela can give unbiased advice on what to buy and where to buy it so we don’t compel you to buy our products.  In fact, we love a bargain and we always encourage a thrifty attitude and support recycling.

Since 2007, Sewing Club students have covered the following: dressmaking, soft furnishing including curtains and blinds, patchwork and quilting, machine embroidery, toy making, bags and accessories and all the exciting variations in-between!

“When I began Angela’s classes I could not thread a sewing machine. Now I’ve made a dress, skirt and trousers! Angela is a fantastic teacher and her classes are full of fun and laughter, catering for beginners and advanced sewers. I have no hesitation in recommending The Sewing Club.”
